Did you know that you can remember Oakwood Cemetery in your will or estate plan? You can make such a gift, or “bequest” to Oakwood Cemeteries of Syracuse, through your will or trust at the time of your passing in any number of ways, including a gift of cash, appreciated stock or property or through a beneficiary designation in a retirement account or life insurance policy.
Including Oakwood Cemetery in your estate planning is as simple as including the following sentence in your will:
I give, devise and bequeath to Oakwood Cemeteries of Syracuse, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(13) corporation, located in Syracuse, NY, the rest, residue and remainder (or state all, a $ amount, or a percentage) of my estate, both real and personal, to be used for its general support.
A bequest is an extraordinary expression of your commitment to preserving one of Syracuse’s most precious historical assets, but one that costs you nothing during your lifetime. We encourage you to discuss options and the impact they may have on your estate and personal situation with your attorney and/or financial advisor.
